Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Tempo application, website, and related services.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Tempo, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tempo. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has permitted your use of the service and reviewed these Terms where required.
3. What Tempo provides
Tempo provides tools for organizing classes, work, personal plans, assignments, exams, deadlines, recurring schedules, and reminders. Tempo is an independent organizational tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any school, university, employer, or calendar provider.
4. Accounts and security
You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your password confidential, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. You may not impersonate another person or create accounts through automated or deceptive means.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of information you enter into Tempo. You grant us a limited, nonexclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display that information only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service. You represent that you have the right to enter the information and that doing so does not violate law or another person’s rights.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use Tempo for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity.
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass security controls except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Upload malware or content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Use automated tools to scrape or create unreasonable load on the service.
7. Reminders and schedule accuracy
Tempo is an organizational aid. You are responsible for reviewing dates, times, recurrence settings, and notification permissions. Notifications may be delayed, disabled, or prevented by device settings, network conditions, operating-system behavior, battery restrictions, or service interruptions. Do not rely on Tempo as the sole method for meeting an academic, employment, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical obligation.
8. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain, secure, or improve Tempo. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We will use reasonable care when making changes that materially affect stored user information.
9. Third-party services
Tempo depends on services provided by companies such as Apple, Google Firebase/Google Cloud, and Expo. Their systems and terms may affect availability and processing. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.
10. Intellectual property
Tempo’s software, design, branding, text, and other materials—excluding your content—are owned by or licensed to Tempo and protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, nontransferable right to use Tempo for its intended purpose.
11. Account termination and deletion
You may stop using Tempo at any time and permanently delete your account from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, or address a serious or repeated violation of these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tempo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tempo and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, opportunities, grades, income, or profits arising from use of or inability to use the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law.
14. Governing rules and disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the law of the U.S. state in which Tempo’s operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the consumer law of your residence requires otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Tempo evolves. We will post the revised Terms, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required. If you do not agree to an update, you should stop using Tempo and delete your account.
